Look to Your Plate Before a Pill

Nutrition is too often categorized as preventative medicine and ignored in reactionary health care. Nutrition therapy is an integral reactionary therapy for a myriad of conditions.

Proper nutrition is typically viewed as a preventative health measure, but altering your diet can have an immediate, direct effect on your health. I urge you to consciously explore improving your diet to achieve the health outcomes you wish instead of mindlessly popping pills.  Majority of medications are purposed to MASK the symptoms but not FIX the root of the health issue. These problematic symptoms are often a nutrient deficiency or food intolerance. By understanding how to correct these nutritional issues, you might not need to seek medication for your symptoms.

Not only can you prevent, but you can CURE disease with nutrition.

Cancer patients are cured with The Gerson Therapy | The Gerson Therapy a powerful, natural treatment boosts the body’s own immune system to heal cancer, arthritis, heart disease, allergies, and many other degenerative diseases. Dr. Max Gerson developed the Gerson Therapy in the 1930s, initially as a treatment for his own debilitating migraines, and eventually as a treatment for degenerative diseases such as skin tuberculosis, diabetes and, most famously, cancer.

Epileptic seizures disappear with a ketogenic diet | A ketogenic diet (high fat, low carb) uses fat instead of carbs for cellular energy. When fat is burned, there is a by product called ketones. It is believed BHB (betahydroxylbutxrate) is responsible for the presentation of seizure activity.  Johns Hopkins has been using a ketogenic diet to treat epileptic patients since 1920.

Diabetes is reversed with a raw food diet | A raw food diet (organic, vegan, uncooked food ) helps diabetics normalize blood sugar and often have no need for their medications. Raw food diets by their nature include less trans fats, additives, and high glycemic foods. Ultimately, a less caloric diet (compared to a highly processed diet) will lead to weight loss which in many instances is crucial for improving diabetes.

The curative properties of food are the reason I adore nutritional science. I love watching people escape the pain of their debilitating disease and achieve better health through better nutrition. Taking a pill is more convenient than revamping your diet, but this is your health we are talking about! You shouldn’t look for short cuts and convenience, but seek a lifelong solution to thrive and feel your best. When you are symptomatic, I urge you to actively explore dietary adjustments instead of initially surrendering to a medication. I hope learning about real foods’ curative properties encourages you to drop the pills and eat yo’ veggies!
